No tummy problemsMy malamute has had tummy problems since we got him as a puppy. I've tried many different foods and Akela Suffolk Duck is the only food he has had that gives him nice firm poops all the time, and is also helping him to gain a little weight. Very happy with this food, my boy loves it, and so does my garden

He also suffered really dirty ears he's been on this for around 5 weeks now and it's completely changed him for the better ears are clear from infection and are cleaner too he had to have them cleaned every day and I haven't had to touch them now in 4 weeks ! Totally amazed by this food :) I recommend it to everyone on Facebook that has had problems with allergies :)

Fab food!!My pooches are always fed a mixture of different kibble, wet foods and raw. We have been feeding Orijen, Simpsons premium, Purizon and Applaws.
I have a 15 month old Romanian Mioritic Shepherd who suffers from itchy skin and had him on Orijen for giant breed puppies but he always had loose stools. Wanted to try him on a single protein food and so far he seems to be doing really well. I love the ingredients used in all the Akela foods and we will be trying the wet food too. Really pleased with the super fast delivery and the fact that they re-cycle cardboard boxes for delivery.Posted on

good but prefer the other complete foodsI think this is an excellent product, my only issue is that it doesnt contain any pre or pro biotics like the other feeds and thus seems to give my boxer loose stools.

How It's Made
Akela kibble is extruded with a Thermal Twin extruder using the lowest temperatures possible; producing more digestible foods without the nutrient degradation that can be seen at high-temperature processing. The extrusion and drying processes do not use very high temperatures – just over 90 degrees centigrade (the minimum for safety reasons) and under 180 degrees centigrade - lower than cooking a pizza! Allowing proteins to stay highly digestible and natural vitamins and minerals to survive the process to make premium quality food. More delicious ingredients are added after extrusion - for example, the vitamin levels stated in the nutritional additive section are added after cooking to guarantee minimum temperatures.
